The Groves is an area located just opposite York Hospital, so if your housemate has had a bit too much - don't panic! This is the top spot for those of you who are studying at York St. Johns, it is very close to the campus, no more than 5 minutes. The houses are genrally very nice in this area. You can get into town by going down Gillygate in no time - it only really takes about 10 minutes. There are enough local shops to keep you going though so you don't even need to venture as far as town.
Rent in The Groves is quite pricy; this is down to nice houses, good location and 'turf wars' with the locals! You are looking in the region of £60-£80pppw; you can get a good house for about £65-70pppw. If you want to be close to York St. Johns, this is the place for you.
