Spittal Tongues is between the Uni and Fenham pretty much. You are a stone’s throw away from Uni. It is home to some of the more popular first year accommodation like Castle Leases and Ricky Road. The houses are all quite nice – most have a gardens etc... The local shops are limited but that is not a problem as you are not far from the town centre where you can get anything you need quite literally. The area is pleasant and safe, there are lots of parks near by; Leases Park has a number of tennis courts which you can whittle the summer evenings away at with friends. You don’t need to get a bus of Metro to town or Uni, this can save money obviously.
Rent in Spittal Tongues is average; it is more expensive than Fenham but cheaper than Sandyford or Jesmond. You should be looking at £45-65pppw to live here which is not bad considering how central it is.
