SANDYFORD

This little student area is tucked between Jesmond and Heaton. It is a great location to be in. You can get to Uni in about 15 minutes. There are buses into town from here although it is not far to walk. There are a number of small shops and nice pubs, it doesn’t have the same vibrance as say Jesmond but it also doesn’t have the same high rent as it! Pay £10-15pppw less than Jesmond and be 5 minutes from the Osbourne Road – best of both worlds!!

The rent has gone up a lot in recent years (about £5pppw/yr), due to its increasing popularity – some would say it is becoming the new Jesmond. Rent in Sandyford ranges from £55-80pppw, which is not bad for its location. The houses are all quite spacious though like Gosforth there are quite a number of families in the area who may not be so happy about your party at 4am in the morning! All in all it is a cheaper Jesmond.
